The Garden of Tranquility
Imagine a place where you can escape the stressors and uncertainties that often come with hospital stays and medical situations. The Garden of Tranquility allows an opportunity for patients, family members, hospital staff, etc. to escape the sterility of the hospital setting, reset the mind, and embrace peace in a hypoallergenic focused healing garden. Primary elements of relaxation include ambient lighting, ambient soothing sounds, peaceful scenery on an evolving screen, private seating with sound blocking glass, interactive sound elements with directional speakers, and interactive water and sand elements.
Individual Assignment - Responsible for All Elements
Garden Facade
Guests will approach a naturalistic domed tunnel entrance surrounded with some trickling water elements and featuring an LED screen aquarium that leads them into the space. The window at the top hints at what lies beyond but blocks out, from the inside, the sterility of the hospital (using one way glass). The goal was to create a stark contrast from the hospital setting and showcase a warm and inviting pathway into the space, like you're transitioning worlds.

Entrance Area
Guests enter the space and are immediately met with wood pathways that lead them around the space, an entrance into an area with swing seats and an relaxing alternating natural scenes on a large screen, there are also accessible wheelchair parking spots. Moving around to the foreground, there are instruments set in the middle as well as sound producing stones in the grass that emit sound from directional speakers aimed down to focus the sound to that area. Last, guest are met with private seating, with two entrances, a ramp path off behind to the right (not shown) and a stair entrance.

Progressing Through the Space
As guests pass through the space, they are presented with more interactive elements all with accessible points. The sand zen garden allows for wheelchairs to access as well as children on one side and another side is raised up a little higher for guests standing. Tools are provided but not required to interact as well as some rocks to play with and stack. Other interactive elements are motion activated water fountains (behind protective glass as to not cause slip hazards). Passing around the corner, guests will finally come across a peaceful water fountain emitting from the stained glass image on the wall and built out in 3D space with rocks.

Interactive Elements
Diving further into the interactive water elements, guests can activate the element simply by passing in front of the sensor located close to the floor at the base of each water element (placed behind protective glass as to not cause a slip hazard). This allows for guests of all ages and abilities to participate in this element as desired.
